WAUSAU, WI – The CWRA Stars to Legends Tour as presented by Smiley’s Old Time Diner Super Late Model drivers will be making a stop at the State Park Speedway, Wausau, WI., Thursday night, June 27th. It will be the first time in over a year the Tour is holding an event at the Historic 1/4 mile asphalt speedway. The night also Features celebrating the life of Dave Lashua. With it also being Wausau Noon Optimist kids night, bike racing will be a featured attraction and the first 100 kids through the gate will receive free ice cream.

A field of over 20 stock car racing machines is expected to participate on the night and one of the top contenders will be area star, Mark Mackesy, Wausau, WI. Mackesy has already captured two main events on the Tour in 2019 and he’d like nothing better than to win at his home track. He’ll have to contend with Tour point leader, Jeff Weinfurter, Wis. Rapids, WI., however as Weinfurter has also won in 2019. Others that are sure to be in the running are Harley Jankowski, Sparta, WI., hot off a win in the last Tour race at Golden Sands Speedway, Plover, WI. Jankowski is also the top Rookie driver on Tour this year, currently 3rd in the point standings. Others certain to be contenders include, Chad Butz, Green Bay, WI., Darek Gress, Neillsville, WI., Mike Reichenberger, Appleton, WI., Frank Nitzke, Berlin, WI., and Derrick Van Dreel, Kellner,WI. Other local talent that will be on hand includes, Rookie contender, Mitch Stankowski, Wausau, WI., Rookie driver, Dillon Mackesy, Wausau, WI., and Travis Volm, Mosinee, WI.

The night of racing will be capped off with two 30 lap CWRA Stars to Legends Tour Feature races which is the normal format the group uses. Other Divisions that will be racing with CWRA include Pure stocks, Mini stocks, and Mini Mods.

Pit gates at the track will open at 3:30 pm, fan gates open at 4:30pm with Qualifying set for 6pm and racing at 7pm.
