One week after coming out on the short end of a door-to-door battle, Brock Heinrich again was involved in some tight racing in the Budweiser/Fabiano Brothers Limited Late Model class.

Some hard work on the car this week by him and his team paid off, though, as this time Heinrich came out on top of a duel with Mitch Stankowski on his way to winning the limited late model feature race.

Heinrich and Stankowski were side-by-side for six straight laps early in the race before Heinrich completed the pass on the outside against last week’s feature winner. Heinrich went on to lead the rest of the way, building a comfortable margin and besting Dillon Mackesy for his second feature win of the season.

“In the shop this week we found some things that made us go not as fast last week as we would’ve liked,” said Heinrich. “She was fast. We made some good changes tonight, and we’re in victory lane.”

Brian (Butchie) Schramm and Adam Eckes also both clinched their second feature wins of the season, and both also won for the second straight week, Schramm in the Advance Auto Parts Pure Stocks and Eckes in the Snap-On Mini Mods.

Schramm started fourth in the 20-lap Pure Stock feature but worked inside Alex Volm for the top spot on lap 7 and led the rest of the way. He maintained a solid margin even while chased by Fred Mueller Qualifying fast timer Chad Dietsche to win by four car lengths.

Eckes made his move just past the midway point of the 20-lap Mini-Mods main, sliding under Greg Blount on lap 11 and going on to back up his feature win from a week ago.

Blount had just cleared a side-by-side battle with Mike Heidmann for the lead but drifted high in turns 3 and 4 and Eckes passed on the inside. The Milladore driver and former track champion outdistanced 2017 division champion George Seliger to the line, with Heidmann taking third.

Amanda Rowe gave the Motors Service & Supply Mini Stocks class a female winner for the second straight week and completed a sweet comeback to racing a few years ago by winning the 15-lap feature.

A week after unsuccessfully chasing eventual winner Ashley Schoone for a good share of the main event, Rowe this time made her car stick on the outside and passed last week’s feature winner with three laps left. She held off fast-timer Kole Ferge and Schoone for her first-ever feature win at State Park Speedway.

The former Amanda Schara and current Wausau Newman High School teacher also nabbed a feature race for the first time since returning to racing three years ago following a seven-year break. It marked her third career feature win and first since winning a pair of features at Tomahawk Speedway in 2003.

Racing continues at State Park Speedway in two weeks on Thursday, June 7, with a full race program including all regular divisions. Fan gates open at 4:30 p.m., with Fred Mueller Qualifying at 6 p.m. and racing to follow at 7 p.m.
